I’ve lived all over the country but have made Greenville, South Carolina my home for the last 20 of my 37 years. I have a serious addiction to anything Coach and would live on Starbucks if I could get away with it. If you follow me on Facebook you’ll also find that I’m slightly enamored with Charlie Hunnam. I’m an avid reader (literary whore to be more precise) averaging around 300 novels a year. I have a penchant for great love stories, sensual poetry and am a romantic at heart.

I currently work full-time in the Greenville area and fill my “extra” time with writing contemporary romance novels with a hint of erotica. I couldn’t do it without the support of my family and friends who push me to keep going when I don’t have the confidence or patience.

No cliffhanger, only hard-earned unexpected love.

And angst.
What is it about this guy?

On paper, he’s one hundred percent wrong for me. His e-mails are equal parts annoying and funny.

Okay, more funny than annoying. More like refreshing. Different. Exciting.

But as I stand next to him now, he’s giving me head-to-toe tingles, and I find myself dwelling on his e-mails.
Meet smart, sexy career girl and New York snob, Charli Richards. She has everything except happiness until the day she meets Layton Griffin. It’s a random encounter on an airplane; it couldn’t mean anything, right?
Layton isn’t even remotely close to who Charli sees herself hooking up with . . . ever. Her mom and best friend agree he’s not for her, but he makes her feel something exciting, awakens her world.
But then Layton changes, going to great lengths for Charli to see him for who he really is.

Will those changes bring them closer together, or will she never be able to see him in the same way again?

MY REVIEW OF ~TO SEE YOU~

*I received an ARC copy of this book in exchange for my honest review*

This is the first book I’ve read by this author and I loved it! It’s a sweet, sexy, unique, slightly angsty love story, and it touched my heart. This story is so different from the usual because the hero is not your typical hero, but definitely a hero all the more. And, then you probably won’t like Charli very much in the beginning, but hold on because she will get her s@$t together soon enough.

Charli & Layton meet on an airplane. Charli is unhappy in life and stuck on the superficial aspects of life. She lives in NY and some would say she is living the dream. Layton is a kindhearted, good person to the core. He lives in CA and has an easygoing yet amazing career. He’s a bit insecure and wears his heart on his sleeve when they first meet. But after some time chatting, both of their worlds will change forever. There’s just a few speed bumps on the way. I really enjoyed this slightly different love story!

“Cheers.” My seatmate good-naturedly tipped his glass toward me. He wasn’t going to leave me alone.

I took a long gulp and looked back at my computer screen.

“Do you like working for them?”

I tugged at my turtleneck; it was so freaking hot all of a sudden. My nosy neighbor’s face had a slight sheen to it, clearly from being hot, and now his warmth was seeping into my space.

“I do. They’re a growing company and . . . I’ve made great strides there.”

What the heck? Why was I even answering him? Because he asked, and if I was honest, it was the nicest anyone had been to me in months.

Furthermore, why did I sound like I was on an interview? Or an infomercial?

He was kind—I could tell—and his smile was gentle and calm, his eyes like warm coffee with just the right amount of cream swirling through it. I turned a little in my seat to face him and my knee brushed his thigh. I let my gaze travel his Beastie Boys T-shirt until I settled on his computer.

Playing on it was a rom-com, one I’d never seen before, but Katie What’s-her-name—all stunning, shiny hair, celebrity mom, perfect life—was front and center. Her arms were full of shopping bags and she was wearing a big grin on her perfect face as she walked down a city street.

“You don’t strike me as the romantic comedy type.” I felt my eyebrow lift. I wasn’t sure if I was teasing him or myself as the question floated from my mouth.

He laughed. It was soothing and comforting like a coffee-and-Kahlua on a cold night, and warm like the sun on the first few days of summer.

I allowed my eyes to close and imagined he looked like somebody else—not someone else totally, but just different. Fit, not slender but muscular. He still had the same gracious smile and inviting eyes, but he wasn’t wearing a music T-shirt in my imagination. Maybe a Henley? And dark-wash jeans instead of the regular everyday ragged blue I’d noticed him wearing.

“It’s work too,” he said, interrupting my fantasy.

“Oh.” I chugged the balance of my mimosa, cooling the wash of desire recently conjured up from my brain.

“Actually, I’m pretty sure BubblePOP will end up reviewing this one, will probably have someone at the premiere too. That’s why I asked about the site. Six degrees of Kevin Bacon and all that. Our worlds are connected.”

“I don’t do movies. I’m the fitness editor, but if Katie What’s-her-name is in it, I’m sure we’ll be all over it.”

He shifted his gaze over fully to me now. His eyes weren’t exclusively deep brown; tiny flecks of amber circled his pupil. They were captivating in a weird way, as if they didn’t belong with this guy.

I’d never met a slob who was so interesting before, yet he was definitely intriguing. And not really a slob—that was my own bias. Clearly, I was having some sort of psychotic breakdown on this airplane.

Excerpt:

“Is this because of what happened last night?” Holt wasn’t usually so direct. He had never been a confrontational kind of guy. Usually, he would go with the flow, but right now he was seized by an urgent sense of desperation. He couldn’t let her go, and it wasn’t just because he needed her to lure Viper.

“No, of course not.” She turned away, tightening her grip on the bag, her hair swinging over her cheek, hiding her face.

Yes.

“It was good you . . . stopped.” She stared out the floor-to-ceiling windows over the valley spread out below them. “I mean, you have things you have to do, and I have things I have to do, and they aren’t things we need to do . . . together.”

Together. Fuck. She’d thought about them together. Although he was pretty damn sure she hadn’t thought of them together the way he had all fucking night long.

“Naiya.”

“I made breakfast. It’s on the stove.” She slung the bag over her shoulder. “Happy revenge.”

No fucking way. “It’s not safe out there.”

“It’s not safe in here.”

“I couldn’t be gentle with you,” he said. “I’m a hard man, Naiya, and the shit I just went through just made me harder. I don’t have sex. I don’t make love. I fuck. And when I do, it’s hard and it’s rough, and that’s not what you need.”

“You don’t know me.” Her face tightened. “You don’t know what I need.”

The hell he didn’t. He could read the longing on her face; he could hear it in her voice. It was the same longing that had gripped him since he met her. The old Holt would have let her walk out the door because it’s what she wanted to do, and who was he to rock the boat? He didn’t know where that Holt had gone, but the man he was now was not letting her get away.

Without taking his gaze off her, he ripped the bag from her fingers and tossed it on the couch. Then he cupped her face between his hands and covered her mouth with his.

Ah God. Her lips were as soft as he imagined, her mouth as lush. Her lips parted on a sigh, and he touched her with his tongue. She tasted of honey and coffee, warm and sweet. He wanted her, wanted this woman with the broken soul, wanted to fix her, show her the beauty of trust and surrender, open her up and fill her with joy. Yeah, he wanted to fuck her bad.

“Holt.” She pulled back, her chest heaving. “I don’t want this. I just broke up with Maurice. We were together two years. It just feels . . . wrong.”

Didn’t feel wrong to him. In fact, nothing had ever felt so right. He tagged her with an arm around her waist and crushed her against him, the way he’d seen Jagger and Cade do with their women, the way he’d seen Tank with Connie. Dominant. Controlling. And damn it felt good. Taking what he wanted. Being in charge.

And yet at the back of his mind, he was assessing her responses, the way she leaned into him, her soft sigh, the flutter of her lashes, and the little hints that told him she was on board and that he wasn’t stepping over the line. He had a strong feeling Viper had crossed that line, and if he caught her, he would cross it again.

Naiya leaned in, melted against him. Pleasure rippled through his body, and his cock hardened in an instant. He dipped his head, drank her down, delighting when she moaned and tangled her tongue with his.

She broke away again, her lips plump and swollen from his kiss. “I should go . . . I was just leaving . . .”

Deeper. Rougher. He slid one hand through her hair, tugged her head back, and held her still as he fed off her hidden desire. Her hands came up, pressed against his chest. Holt tensed, thinking she would push him away. Instead, her arms wrapped around his neck and she pulled him closer, straining upward as she kissed him back with a passion that belied her words. She wasn’t leaving. Not now.

Not ever.

Dressed, I headed across to Enzo’s room. He opened the door for me and my mouth dropped open. He looked amazing in a white dress shirt and navy slacks. I’d never seen him in anything other than jeans, chambray or t-shirts. Instead of boots, he wore brown leather brogues.

He stared at me with an odd expression before saying, “You look good,” and turning away.

“Wow,” Gianna said, looking me over. “You scrub up well for a ranch hand.”

She wore a lovely emerald silk dress that was cut off across one shoulder and draped in an asymmetrical style beyond her knees. Strappy diamante sandals and her hair styled in a loose chignon completed the classy outfit.

“He sure does,” Enzo added, still giving me that look that made my heart thud faster.

“And there I was worried you wouldn’t have anything suitable to wear.” She beamed a smile at me, and then turned to her brother, holding up a maroon silk tie. “Come on, Enzo. The tie will go great with your suit. Tell him for me please, Alex.”

“No, I don’t need one. Alex isn’t wearing one and he looks great.” He turned away as if he hadn’t expected the words to come out as awestruck as they did.

My smile blossomed into a full grin. He really liked me in a suit then.

“I don’t need a tie. As you say I’m just the ranch hand.” I winked at Gianna. “But the tie will work well with your suit. Here let me help you.”

I walked over to Gianna and took the tie from her. “You look totally amazing,” I said and pressed a kiss to her cheek.

Then I strode over to where Enzo leaned against the table. “Trust me, you’ll look great.”

“Hmmm,” was all he said, but he let me come close enough to turn the collar of his shirt up.

I was conscious of Gianna behind us so I maintained a reasonable gap between us as I slid the silk around his neck. Each breath I took filled my lungs with his scent—man and spice—that transported me back to the night in the log cabin.

As I looped and knotted the tie, I couldn’t help brushing my fingers against his chin. His breath hitched. A smile played at the corner of my mouth. He’d shaved the skin smooth. I missed the bristles and wanted them rubbing against my skin.

“I can’t find my perfume in my purse,” Gianna called out from behind. “I’m going to pop back to my room and get it.”

My body trembled, knowing I’d be alone with Enzo for a few minutes. I could feel the tension coming off his body too.

As soon as the door closed behind his sister, I couldn’t keep away any longer. I leaned my body against his, making sure he felt the bulge of my erection on his thigh.

“I’ve missed you,” I whispered before brushing my lips on his.

He gripped my low pony tail, angled my head and devoured my mouth.

I groaned long and deep as I sank into him, loving his strength, loving the contact. My hands slid around his back as I gathered him into me so that we were as physically close as we could be with clothes on.

I don’t know what happens to me whenever this man touched me, but I felt as if this was where I should be.

A rattling noise at the door broke us apart when Enzo shoved me away.

Title: A Woman’s Touch

Series: A Woman’s Touch #1

Author: Delaney Foster

Genre: Adult, Contemporary Romance

Published: March 8, 2015

What do you do when life hands you lemons?

You grab a bottle of vodka and make one hell of a martini.

I’d been through the fire and come out a diamond. I was the owner of my destiny. Yeah that worked for about a minute. Right up until the day Nathan Alexander sent his stupid letter to my office. Then it was like someone had opened up a bag of marbles in a mine field. The life I had worked so hard to rebuild quickly started falling to pieces. Everything that meant anything to me was being snatched from my hands. Bit by bit the storm came raging. All the weakness from my past came creeping back. And any glimpse of hope I had for my future, for my son’s future, was blowing away with the wind.

That’s when I decided to go to him for help. United States Senator, Nick Knight. He is completely unexpected. His mere presence commands attention. He is everything I never thought I’d have. Everything I never knew I even wanted. He calms my storm. He quiets my soul. Even without knowing my secrets, he comforts me. But he has secrets too. Demons he drinks away at night. Maybe we can save each other.

Suddenly I’m tired of planning. Tired of running. Ready to feel.

Then reality slaps me in the face. Hard. And I am reminded that feelings have consequences…

A Woman’s Touch Excerpt © Delaney Foster 2015

Nick has a way of convincing me, without words, to do whatever he wants without me ever knowing he dominated the situation. He’s such a natural politician. The kitchen incident actually worked to my benefit. It gave me a minute to regroup. This whole thing was going way too fast. I had no intention of spending the night with Nick. Sure, the sex was amazing. Okay I take that back, I’ve had sex. What we had…was not sex. Someone needs to invent another word for it. What I had with Nick was an incredibly intense and almost surreal experience. He took my body to levels of pleasure it has never been before. It’s like we were dipping into some crazy feeling people aren’t meant to feel. You know, like how we only use a certain percent of our brains because it would make us crazy if we used the whole thing. It’s like that. But with the senses. He’s messing with me. From the inside out. I’m having a hard time separating the physical from the emotional. And I can’t fall into that trap again.

My mind was made up. I was going home to regain my sanity before seeing him tomorrow night. And in he comes, with his smooth voice and silver tongue. So here we are, having dinner at some expensive restaurant on the river. He’s just sipping his whiskey while he watches me eat. If I weren’t so freaking hungry I may be a little uncomfortable with it but I’ll save that drama for later. I’m starving. That stare though. God it’s like he’s sending Jedi mind sex from his head to mine. He’s just sitting there, all crooked smile and seductive eyes, swishing the gold liquid around in his glass of ice before taking in a mouthful. I have to put down the fork and admire him for a moment. The Veal Michael is good but nothing is more satisfying than that look. “What?” I ask.

He takes another sip. “Just thinking.”

I slide my plate to the side so it’s not a distraction. “Oh? About what?” I make an attempt at imitating his sexy sip.

Nick sets his glass on the table, never moving his eyes from mine. “I don’t want to go home alone,” he states plainly.

Here we go. The moment of truth. If I tell him no, I risk upsetting him and give up another earth shattering round of sextasy. If I say yes, I risk falling for him. As if I haven’t already done that. But at least I set up boundaries and stay in control. I take another sip. The red wine is tart and dry. Not what I’m used to. So it’s not helping much. I set the glass down and try not to be serious with my reply.

“With that smile, I doubt you go home alone often,” I tease.

He brings his elbow up to the table and rubs the stubble trail from his jaw line to his chin. He’s choosing his words. Maybe I shouldn’t have made a joke of it. “Let me say it another way then…I want you to come home with me.”

Does he even know what he’s asking? He may have random sleepovers all the time, but I try not to make it part of my routine. Sleeping with someone, in the literal sense, is a significant symbol of comfort and trust. You’re entirely vulnerable when you sleep. And then there’s the whole holding each other close…for hours..thing. Not to mention the drool. And you don’t have the intermission period to collect your thoughts and remind yourself that this is temporary, a means to an end. It’s incredibly intimate. He may not think much of it. But I do. He must sense my hesitation because he continues before I am able to object.

“I’m not asking for a kidney Heidi. I just want more time with you. Is that such a bad thing?” I guess not.

“No.”

He smiles again. “I’m not ready to let you go yet. I don’t know if I ever will be.”

Delaney Foster is a wife, mother, and lover of all things romantic. She is a true Southern Belle who enjoys a glass of wine after a long day and Saturdays at the baseball park. In her stories you will find sexy alpha males, strong women, and a love story worth staying up past your bedtime for.

Speechless Excerpt 1: © Nicole Edwards 2016

Thursday, June 2nd

TEAGUE CARTER TRIED to ignore Hudson Ballard. Hell, he’d tried to ignore the bastard for the past … what? Two years now? Maybe three? Who freaking knows and who really cares. Regardless, it was getting more and more difficult as each day passed, but he wanted to think he’d done a pretty decent job all this time.

Until now.

Until today.

Until this fucking cruise, where he’d seen more of Hudson than he cared to.

Yup, Teague had mastered the art of avoidance or so he’d thought. But here on this stupid cruise ship, with the way Hudson was watching him, avoiding the man was damn near impossible. To the point that Teague simply wanted to punch him. In the mouth.

But he hadn’t.

No, he had settled for drinking himself into oblivion and it’d worked. He could no longer feel his fingers or toes, and his tongue had long ago gone numb thanks to the whiskey he’d been drinking like water. Chasing it with beer helped, too. It’d been the only way he could handle watching Hudson talk to the guy he’d brought on the ship with him. Stupid asshole.

He peered over his shoulder at Hudson, noticing the big guy was watching him intently. Teague had the sudden urge to stick out his tongue, but he knew that was petty and childish, and he was doing his best not to give in to those impulses. Shit, he was twenty-five years old, for fuck’s sake. He could act like a grown-up when need be.

Still didn’t mean he liked the fact that Hudson had brought along a plus one on this trip. Teague was pretty sure someone had said the guy’s name was AJ, but he wasn’t positive. Nor did he give a fuck. What the hell kind of name was that, anyway?

“A. J.” Teague smiled to himself as he began saying the letters faster. “A. J. A. J. A. J. Age. Age. Age. Age. Age.” He laughed because they now sounded funny and made his tongue tingle.

He rolled his eyes and lifted his empty glass. Too bad the bar was closed already. Then again, the reception was over, which meant the private room would probably be closing soon, too. The alcohol was definitely helping to keep him from thinking about Hudson. In fact, he’d done everything in his power not to pay attention to Hudson and his new boy toy. The boy toy who had been signing to Hudson earlier and was now talking to Milly.

Did anyone else find that strange?

Gay guy. Straight girl. No matter how you calculated it, the math didn’t add up.

Damn. He’d obviously had far too much to drink, because it sure as shit looked like Milly and the guy were flirting it up. But that couldn’t be the case. The asshole was here with Hudson.

Hudson the Prick.

Mmm-hmm, that was what Teague had started calling him. It was a good name for him, too.

When his head started spinning again, Teague knew it was time to get to his cabin. He wasn’t sure how he was going to make that happen, but he figured he’d get there eventually. If not, he could always lie down on the floor and take a nap. It wasn’t like anyone would be worried about where he was or who he was with. Unlike everyone else on this stupid cruise, he didn’t have a plus one. He was rolling solo, like always.

Oh, wait. Roan was, too.

Whatever.

Roan wasn’t important right now.

“Son of a fucking bitch,” he muttered, holding his empty glass. No more whiskey and no more bartender meant heading back to his room was a definite must.

He managed to twist in his chair and get his feet firmly on the floor, but when he went to stand, the room started spinning again. He had to sit back down. Luckily, no one had moved the chair or he would’ve been on his ass on the floor, and he was seriously questioning whether or not he could’ve gotten up from that point.

Okay, one more try.

Again, Teague pushed to his feet, this time remaining upright long enough to get away from the table. He started in the direction of the door, hoping he would make it. Right foot. Left foot. Right foot.

Wait, which foot was he on?

He looked up at the door. That was a long-ass way from where he was, but…

Shit.

He stumbled again and grabbed the nearest chair. “If the ship would stop rocking, I’d be fine.” He wasn’t sure who he was talking to, but the words helped his tongue not feel so numb, so he continued to ramble as he pushed away from the chair and made another go at getting to the door.

Unfortunately, the door disappeared from view when a giant body stepped in front of him.

Fucking great.

Now he had to deal with Hudson the Prick.

Teague instantly looked at Hudson’s hands as he signed. He had absolutely no fucking idea what Hudson said, but if he knew Hudson, it was going to be something that involved telling Teague what to do. So he replied in kind. “Thanks for the bit of advice, Dad.”

The next thing Teague knew, he tripped on his own foot, and the world tilted sideways. Just as he was gearing up to kiss the floor, Hudson’s enormous arms wrapped around him, keeping him from face-planting. Because he was too drunk to do otherwise, he allowed Hudson to get him to his feet by putting his arm around his back.

Hmm. The guy smelled good.

Then again, he always smelled good.

Something dark and woodsy…

Had to be cologne. The expensive shit, at that.

While Hudson guided him toward the door, Teague tried to ignore the heat that seared him from Hudson’s touch. He hated how fucking good it felt for someone to be touching him like this. He wasn’t sure anyone had ever attempted to take care of him or given a flying fuck whether or not he made it where he needed to go, but it seemed Hudson was doing just that. Sure, Teague had friends, kind of, but most of them would’ve laughed their ass off once Teague hit the ground. They wouldn’t have helped him by any means. And since he had no family…

Teague was distracted by Hudson’s scent.

“Why the fuck do you have to smell so good?” He tried to peer up at Hudson, wanting to look into those emerald-green eyes. “And why the hell aren’t you with your boyfriend?”

He knew better than to expect an answer from Hudson. The guy was mute; he couldn’t speak. If he signed a response, Teague wouldn’t understand, anyway. And truthfully, he didn’t want an answer to that. He’d done his best not to think about Hudson and that guy sharing a room, sharing a bed…

He shook his head, trying to dislodge the stupidity that was bouncing around inside his brain.

Hudson helped him onto the elevator, then pointed to the panel by the door.

Teague reached out and hit a button. Seven was a good number. It was random, sure, but that was because he couldn’t remember what floor he was on.

When they got to the floor, Hudson helped him out, still holding him upright as he led him down the hall. For some reason, this didn’t look like the right one, but Teague really didn’t know. His vision was blurry, so he couldn’t tell for sure. The carpet was different, maybe?

“Not my floor,” he mumbled, trying to remember what floor he actually was on. “Room number doesn’t have a seven.”

Or did it?

He felt Hudson’s arm tighten around him, and he got the sense Hudson wasn’t pleased with him, but he didn’t give much of a fuck. No, he didn’t give a fuck at all. The thought made him chuckle.

No fuck at all.

It seemed like forever before they finally made it to the right floor. It had only taken another detour on the wrong one before he got lucky. This one looked like the right place. And this—he reached out his arm and pointed—was the right door. Maybe. When they stopped, he noticed Hudson’s hands moving, but he didn’t know what Hudson was saying, so he frowned back at him.

Not wanting to touch Hudson any more than he had to, Teague attempted to stand up on his own. “Fuck. Why’s the room spinning so damn much?” And who stretched it? The last part he kept to himself because his lips felt funny.

He peered up at Hudson at the same time those penetrating green eyes glared back at him. He was tempted to ask him what his problem was, but then…

Son of a bitch.

Hudson’s hand dove into Teague’s pocket, dangerously close to… Oh, fuck. Just a little to the left…

No, wait. Not to the left. He wasn’t supposed to want Hudson touching him.
